Our new name: Ventanaz!

triplePmedia is old….Viva Ventanaz!

Although we totally embrace all initiatives and projects that help the People & Planet and also generate some Profit, we felt the TripleP in our name didn’t quite suit us anymore.

New Media New World, thats us. It goes beyond the 3 P’s. To us the 3P’s go wihtout saying: they belong to the New World, no question about that.

We are storytellers, journalists. We believe the old and new media can and should go hand in hand. So we make independent stories, and publish in newspapers on the internet and later on on tv too, but we can also turn journalistic stories into new media products. I’ll make a blog to show you how that can work.

For now I wanted to tell you that we changed our name, into Ventanaz.

It’s Spanish and this is what it means to us:

We’re working on a strategyplan, we’re building a new website and we’re having great brainstorms on our brand new webchannel, Ventanaz.tv, soon to be launched!

We’ll keep you up to date on the developments. To start with; here’s an attempt to our strategyplan:

African Digital Revolution @RNW

Radio Netherlands Worldwide has posted our item about the Digital Revolution in Nairobi.Starring Mark Kamau of Nairobits and John Karanja of Africa’s social network site Whive.com

In 2007, the Ghanaian economist George Ayittey already talked about these so-called cheetah generation. One which unlike the older hippo-generation still being grumpy about colonialism and imperialism, is finding new solutions to old problems.

With the Internet, they have finally found the key to pulling Africa out of the gutter. The innovative and creative applications they come up with make their world run as fast as the one in the West.

John Karanja wrote on Facebook:

Whive.com and TriplePMedia.nl made a visit to Kibera, Africa’s largest informal settlement. We were shocked to find kids playing Xbox and using social media to transform their lives.

Nairobi 2.0 I Openspace I Onepercentevent
